Mr. Chad by Frankie Rowles
Chad Parsons (He/They) is a theatre artist from Philadelphia, PA where he attended West Chester University and received a BA in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre. After graduation, Chad pursued his career as an actor and has performed at/with Norwegian Cruise Lines, Walnut Street Theatre, Fulton Opera House, Media Theatre and OCTC are some highlights. They are also a two time Barrymore Award Nominee for their work in Fiddler and Joseph. After a few years of the stage Chad embraced his love for directing and the importance of the arts in education. In the past few years Chad has directed over 25 productions including the US Premiere of Aunty Ben by Sian Frances and the PA Regional Premiere of Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical by Douglas Lyons. In May 2020 Chad graduated from the University of North Carolina Greensboro where he received his MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) he then began a new adventure by opening a production company, in the middle of a pandemic. Crazy? Maybe. But we promise to practice P.R.I.D.E. in our future collaborations, productions and enrichment projects that we create (Perspective, Respect, Identity, Deivesity, Equity). Chad is also on the board of the Pride Youth Theatre Alliance (PTYA) where he works with other theatre companies lifting queer youth voices, be sure to like them on facebook and instagram along with ReNew! - Chad was recently elected to the advisory board of the Pride Youth Theatre Alliance 2021 -
- Chad was selected to be a part of the "Emerging Ideas Roundtable" at the Children, Youth and Performance Conference at the Young People's Theatre on June 15th, 2019 in Toronto, Canada. -
- Chad was selected by The Pride Youth Theatre Alliance (PYTA) to present a workshop on Gender Exploration in Process Drama at their annual conference held in Pittsburgh, PA this year. Chad was also selected as one of the recipients of PYTA's scholarship program. -
Chad will be working as an independent artist & teaching artist do to the Pandemic. As with many other artist, the projects we were signed up to do can no longer take place. Please CHECK OUT the CURRENT PROJECTS tab and support if you can.
Chad has created a PODCAST with some of his student's passing the mic to them while they lead discussions with professional theater artist in Theatre with P.R.I.D.E
