Chad Parsons (He/They) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist, director, and educator based in Philadelphia, PA, with a focus on immersive storytelling, puppetry, and Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA). A three-time Barrymore Award nominee (Fiddler, Joseph, Fun Home), Chad’s performance career includes work with Norwegian Cruise Lines, Walnut Street Theatre, Fulton Opera House, Media Theatre, and Ocean City Theatre Company.
Chad holds an MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from UNC Greensboro and a BA in Theatre (Musical Theatre concentration) from West Chester University. His passion for creating inclusive, impactful experiences led to the founding of ReNew Productions, a company committed to creating experiences that center Perspective, Respect, Identity, Diversity, and Equity (P.R.I.D.E.). Through ReNew, Chad develops custom productions, curriculum-aligned workshops, and community programming for all ages.
As a director, Chad has led over 25 productions, including the U.S. premiere of Aunty Ben by Sian Frances and the PA regional premiere of Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical by Douglas Lyons. He specializes in new work development, TYA, immersive theatre, and education-focused productions that engage audiences through storytelling and play.
Chad also serves on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Area Puppetry Guild (GPAPG) and is the incoming Vice Chair of the Pride Youth Theatre Alliance (PYTA), where he helps lift queer youth voices and foster meaningful collaborations in arts education.
